Adrienne is AMAZING. Given that she's a grad student and not an actual professor with long term teaching experience she does a damn good job. I had her her first year teaching and it was the hardest and most worthwhile class I've ever taken. Her tests are hard because she expects a lot and doesn't always know where to differentiate between critical knowledge and detail. To make up for that, she cares more about individual students and gets more personally involved than any professor or teacher I've ever had. And lets not forget, she's a grad student with her own classes to worry about. I started that class with a 52 and ended up with an A- because she made it clear to me that if I was willing to work my ass off to learn she'd work hers off to teach me. So if you're willing to as well (and hell you're in college you should be) take the class, you won't regret it.
This is in reponse to the negatives I've read. I have known adrienne for about a year now, both in and out of the class. In response to the idiotic idea that she gives a quiz on the first day, that is totally ludicrous. It is an ASSESSMENT to find out how much we already know. Second, she is not prejudiced towards anyone and will make time for anyone that requests it. The class is fast yes, but it is her job to teach the students as much physiological psychology as she can and she does a commendable job of that. Some of it might seem confusing to a person that has not encountered it before but that is to be expected. Read the book, look at the CD, take notes and if you need to, talk to her. I learned a lot. She has a great love of teaching and is a great teacher and great person overall. Oh yea... Hotness level = A+

She is prejudicial, she shows favoritism in the classroom and makes borderline mean comments to students. She makes easy material difficult and others should not have to put up with her bad attitude when getting extra help. Also, she is not understanding and compassionate to her students.

Positive:
Good professor.
Great teaching methods/approach
Negative:
This was one of my favorite classes at Uconn. I definitely recommend taking it with Adrienne. She goes at a fast pace, but if you use the text book with your notes, read over the articles once, and try the cd that comes with the book... you will get an A. Tests are multiple choice and long, but very fair and right out of the notes. There's a lot of chances for extra credit throughout the semester too. Great class!
