Sociology
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Natalie is outstanding! Hilarious and really excited about the subject, unlike some profs who just show up and sound very bored with their own material. She dances around in class and encourages class discussion. Very comfortable with herself in front of 70 people. Definitely the best grad student instructor and of the best profs I've had. You'll never forget her.
Natalie is definetly an interesting person. She is very enthuastic at first andthen I felt like half way through the year she just gave up. She assigns a TON of reading and we are always behind on the syllabus. She is a graduate student and knows her stuff but she needs learn how to organize her lectures better to keep up with her syllabus.

Natalie seemed really excited about the subject matter, but your entire grade is based on 1 event eval and 2 exams. The class is rediculously basic and easy, but when she gives you the exams you want to scream. They aren't HARD they are just entirely general. They are almost completely MATCHING and TRUE/FALSE. Most of the questions had at least 3 potential answers. Needless to say, no one did well on the first one, so we asked her if she would do more multiple choice and/or add some short answer so that we could show her what we knew. She replied by saying that she "had enough of her own school work to do" and that "matching and true/falsh took her seconds to create, you're in college, deal with it." It was sad and frustrating that she didn't attempt to accomodate us even when the class average made it clear that her style wasn't effective. She also refuses to post the notes on Vista, which is understandable seeing as she didn't want to give anyone a free ride (class attendence was typically very low), but even if you missed class for a valid reason she would meet you at bookworms and try to give you the notes from memory. Cleary not effective. Fun professor to take class with, but don't expect your grade to reflect the difficulty level of the class.

hate to be the downer, but i had a serious issue with her always being late to class by 5-10 minutes then trying to keep us that long over. grading scale is ridiculous, 40% midterm 40% final and 20% paper. i would be okay with that except for the fact that i don't think we were prepared enough for the midterm. she definitly knows what she is talking about and relates extremly well to students.
