I had Dr. Gantz for classical myth, and I feel like I learned more in that class than any other I've ever taken. Not only is he a genuine authority on the subject (he's published a giant, rather useful book on Greek myth), he is very good at communicating to students what they need to know and helping them remember it. And he has this wonderful dry wit--he kept me awake in the morning. I can't wait to take another of his classes.

I had Dr. Gantz for Mythology, and I got an A. He is definitely not nearly as bad as the previous review says. He is a very brilliant man, and seems to know everything about the ancient Greek world like the back of his hand. His tests are somewhat difficult, but he understands the level at which the class is at. His lectures are almost completely monologue, but help to explain the reading. There are very few assignments. I am indifferent as far as recommendation, but it won't kill you if you take his class.

Professor Gantz taught mythology with such style. His class was the highlight of my semester and one of myy alll-time favorites. I'll miss him
