Dr. Asarta knows anything and everything there is to know about Economics. He interacts with students in every class period and turns difficult concepts to understand into real life situations that make it much easier to learn and comprehend. I will definitely be taking many more classes with Dr. Asarta. Additionally, he has "one minute tests" on how he is doing as a professor and what he needs to recover. He is dedicated to every student and wants to see every student succeed. He is very open to questions and concerns regarding his class. He can be intimidating for some but that is why you should take advantage of office hours so he can get to know you better and vice versa. Dr. Asarta is "the man" when it comes to economics. plus, he's not bad on the eyes which makes it easier for an 8:30 am MWF class!

Prof. Asarta is easily the best professor I've ever had. If you've read some of the other comments on here, he definitely knows Economics like the back of his hand. This is probably the only class I've taken at the University that I actually looked forward to going to every M/W/F. Those students on here that said he was mean or a bad teacher are just people that don't show up to class and expect him to hand them an A anyway. Seriously, if you have the option of taking his class, DO IT!!!!! You will not regret it. He is the reason I switched my major to Economics. A+ professor and a stand-up guy.

Asarta can rub some students the wrong way. If you are a student who will not show up to class, do not take Asarta's class. If you enjoy showing up late to class, do not take his class. He knows what he is talking about and has great ways to portray the information and make it easy to learn. His tests are not simple, but they are not hard if you show up to class daily. Almost every single question on the tests is covered in class multiple times. He also pulls about 20% of his questions from the study guide book word for word. If you don't mind earning your grade you will absolutely love this class. Best professor at the University.
