Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Had him for a second course in linear algebra. He is very methodical in his explanations which is good for an upper level math course. His assignments can be a bit difficult. Also, for anyone who cares, his work is in applied mathematics. So for those of you looking for a more pure mathematics course, you may run into lectures where he spends considerable time talking about applications. The personality thing people have been talking about has some merit. While he is not mean or spiteful, you may get a slight creped-out vibe the first few lectures. But that is just the way he is and it doesn't take away from the class and one you have spent some time around him you see that he's a pretty chill guy. Would definitely take another course with him.
He's one of my favorite teachers Ive had yet. I think what describes him best is "bold" and "doesnt play around" (he simply has no tolerance for anyone who isnt putting in the effort). Truly, the homework & quizes were no more difficult than they should be; they covered the core material & weren't unnecessarily complex. He's very helpful during office hours. Most negative reviews you may read about him are simply because the same reason I selected "Professor does not relate to students" under the negative column; most students don't get his bold, no slack personality... but I love it.. Its fun to watch, and is motivating. ..And "no slack" does not equal "no humor"; he's funny when he's in a good mood. To add to his personality, I think he likes old black & white Charlie Chaplin films, and Monet paintings (as perceived during office help hours). Just do the work, don't ask stupid questions, and you should be fine. =)
Positive:
I would recommend this professor
Is interesting/entertaining/funny
Has enthusiasm in the classroom
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Professor does not relate to students
By far one of the worst teachers in the Math department. Everyday he would storm into class and ask if we had and questions. His tests were only a few problems but loaded with a ton of work. He even kicked out another teaching group because they did not get out by class time and yelled at them all. The only sure way to pass this class is if you do all the homework and understand everything he says while solving more complex math problems than you have before.
Positive:
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Would not recommend this professor
Confusing or hard to understand
Overly difficult tests or assignments
Notes/lecture is confusing
Makes class too challenging
Worst professors I've ever had!
Whoever says he has a bad sense of humor does not appreciate math humor in general.
Positive:
Good professor.
Is challenging
Is willing to help students anytime
Negative:
He seems to have problems in personality. Unlike most of the friendly professors in Math Dept., he hates every single stupid student like me. I was accused of falling asleep during his lecture today (I rarely fall asleep during lecture), but I have never complained about being asleep in such a bad manner in my 4 years of undergraduate life. He even asked me not showing up to his class. Anyway, he is the worst professor I've ever had without any doubt. I storongly recommend not to take his class as long as it's possible.

Professor is boring or bland
Expectations are unclear or lofty
Needs to involve students in class discussions
Lacks enthusiasm in the classroom
Poor sense of humor
