Thomas Balke

All Balke does is go over the examples at the end of the chapters, leaving it to the student to go through and read the chapter forcing them to learn the concepts on their own. He doesn't teach, all he does is give the answers.

i took Balke's 804 as an 8:30 class. he realizes that 8:30 is way too early to learn accounting and is really good at waking you up witha few laughs. comedy is his specialty and i really dont think he fits the teacher mold. he should have been a comedian-this guy WILL make you laugh, no matter how uptight you are. i had him the same semester as i had stara and its interesting to see how differently they run their classrooms. balke is very laid back and i dont see how anyone can say they didn't enjoy taking his class. its almost good to have him early in the morning because his walmart jokes will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day!

tBa is the best accounting teacher at UNL. His stories are insanely funny and I have to admit, they usually do have something to do with Wal-Mart. In class, he professes to hate that store, but I saw him shopping there once!! tBa, whats the deal with that? tBa is super laid back in class and seems more like a buddy that you would go drink beer with rather than a teacher. Compared to some other accounting professors (like Dr. Price...perhaps THE WORST TEACHER EVER) he is a godsend. He is like Dr. Jekyll and she is My. Hyde. But you don't even have to take Price to realize that Balke is one cool dude.

Balke is a stud. Although he gets off the boring subject of accounting, he keeps that classroom laughing by telling his stories and life experiences. Understanding him is easy and I think that he is the best professor I have ever had, unlike Price! Recommended for a good time. He really relates to the students.

Balke proves that not all accounting majors are incredibly boring. After taking his class, I realized why I am sticking with accounting. He's awesome!
