This class was terrible! A 100 level class that shouldn't be too difficult (and really isn't when other people teach it) but she makes it terrible! You're required to do these awful New York Times article essays 3 times every week, plus she gives you a HUGE concept sheet and then tests you on 5 of them for the test. She grades very difficultly, and it's near impossible to get an A in her class... it's almost like she doesn't want you to succeed! She is also very unclear in her lectures, likes to speak to you in French, and you can never quite be sure what exactly she is talking about. If you can, stay away from her! TAKE INFRANCO WHENEVER POSSIBLE FOR POLY SCI! Sadly, not all of us can luck out... just avoid Dr. Mazur unless you want to work your butt off for a C-!

Positive:

Shows a great knowledge of subject matter

Has enthusiasm in the classroom

Negative:

Would not recommend this professor

Confusing or hard to understand

Overly difficult tests or assignments

Notes/lecture is confusing

Makes class too challenging

Professor does not relate to students

Prof Mazur has a lot of knowledge on subjects regarding political science. However, she tends to base her lectures on what she already knows and needs to think about what she says. If you like hearing the sord "UM" then you will like her, but if you want to have another lecture on the same material the next day of class when in all reality the lecture should have only taken 15 minutes, then she's not your gal. She also tends to ramble in French. I dunno but that is something that seems added in there to make her seem like she knows something that you don't. And don't comment on anything she wears or lipstick or hair because she might think you are trying to flirt with her if you are a male. Feminist syndrome I would say yes!!

Positive:

Is challenging

Brings discussion into the classroom

Shows a great knowledge of subject matter

Negative:

Confusing or hard to understand
