I was actually surprised to see some of the other reviews. I have taken two classes from him and really enjoyed them. The person who complained about spending the whole semester to do a paper was probably in one of the stats class, and that's the course not the prof! Dr. Patterson is an easy-going and intelligent guy, and I recommend taking courses from him!

Bob is an interesting guy. He certainly knows his material, but he often goes off on tangents. He also explains things 3 or 4 times and gives you information that he terms "irrelevant."

This professor tries really hard but ends up confusing you even more than when you started. He will start talking about one topic and then go off on about 10 different tangents before coming back to his original topic (as soon as he remembers what that was).

Patterson is one of the most boring professors that I have ever had. He repeats himself at least 3 times (if not more) on everything he says. Class is not fun anymore and I would drop it if I did not need it for my major. Patterson seldom jokes around in class and he relates poorly to students. Do not take this man's class!
