Boyd Benson

Had this professor 4 years ago and was by far the most interesting character I've had. I am pretty sure that he indulged in some kind of paraphernalia once or twice in his life which would explain why his thoughts get jumbled on a regular basis. Very mellow and easy which sets up for a perfect English 101 course. Lacks organization and is hard to understand at times. I would definately recommend this teacher if you are somewhat of a slacker or don't care much for organization.

BAH. You have Boyd as your teacher? This guy is a disaster:). He means well, but between the “freakery” fetish that he has and his complete lack of organization, one is left with mixed feeling about his class. Boyd tends to go off on random tangents, and at times is completely spontaneous and confusing. Not a very good lecturer; he seems to often lose his train of thought. He also tneds to repeat himself over and over again… But he’s amusing, and not afraid to say whatever he happens to be thinking. Beware of his accidental outbursts of… frankness… you will either laugh or feel a little disturbed. take him at your own risk. If you have an idea of how write well, it’s an easy A. If you feel like you need a well structured class, you might have found the perfect opposite.

No organization or syllabus. WILLING to help, but NEVER follows through. Nice guy, but total flake!

At the beginning of the semester, we were all so excited, thinking this class would be great! Unfortunately, Boyd has no organization at all and you never quite know what the assignments are. He will say one thing in class, then if asked to clarify, will say something completely different. Also, NO feedback or grades until the very end of the term. He also tends to ramble about nothing in class. He has the potential to be a good teacher, but needs to come to class prepared and with some plan. A syllabus would have been nice, too.
