Jarvis is great. His notes consist of overheads, with the points he wants you to know bolded. If you review your notes, the tests are exceedingly simple. He will ask a few questions from the book (which I haven't even opened) but they are really general and easy to guess at. If you're looking for a great class that's fun and easy to pull an A in to raise your GPA, this is it! I would love to take another class of his, he's great.

I took Rock and Roll History from Jarvis and loved it! He does a great job of covering a huge topic and getting you to understand the progression and influences on rock over time. As a student who takes the integrity of a college education seriously, I do have one complaint. It is not totally his fault, but a lot of students obtained copies of the tests from the previous semesters, and since he didn't create new ones, lots of people cheated. Also, the lecture notes he gives could probably be more simplified (or at least just only write down the main points). Overall, Jarvis a great person and professor and I highly recommend him.
