Dr. Turnbull is a cool guy. He's approachable, funny, and laid-back, but he's not a slacker and he knows his stuff. I played in the symphonic band and also took sight-singing from him. He's the kind of person that won't take too much crap, so expect your grade to reflect your effort (or lack thereof). I stayed in symphonic band an extra year because he made if both FUN and challenging, unlike the uptight and slightly snobby mood of wind symphony and orchestra.
