Jerry Gough

The History of Technology and Social Change was one of the best classes I've ever had. I also took both semesters of History of Science from Gough. I learned more science from him than from any of the science classes I've taken in College. He has a strange sense of humor, but he's funny. His tests are awesome. He gives you the essay question ahead of time and lets you use notes to write it out in class (this, he says, is so you won't write too much). The test questions are extremely thought provoking--I learned tons preparing them. The only thing I didn't like were the Identifications on exams. They were picky and hard.

His history class was awesome. It was a shame I so frequently nodded off (post-lunch sleepys). He doesn't use notes and knows so much. His humor is kind of odd at first but it doesn't take long to laugh with him. Assignments are not clearly defined.

this guy can be a real jerk. dont take his history 469 or any class he teaches. he's a poor critic and is self-righeous to the extreme. his obcession for chemistry is repulsive and an unnecessary element in his history course. he thinks he is the smartest man alive and people should bow down to him for some odd reason.
