Pretty tough when it comes to grading and deadlines, but that's journalism. He expects a lot of his students and it's nice to have a teacher that actually has journalism experience, not a Ph.D. in stupid theory garbage.

Irby is one of the best profs you can learn from at WSU. Because he spent most of his life actually WORKING in journalism, he knows a lot more than some of the all-theory, all-the-time profs. Don't be fooled by the seemingly small number of assignments ... Irby is a very demanding grader and really expects you to do your best. But because he is so strict with the final product, you know for a fact any "A" you get is well-deserved.
