Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
i learned a lot in her class, and it was very interesting. she definately was well prepared for every class, and knew what she was talking about. it was a tough class, definately not for one who intends to slack off. we had reading assignments for every class, plus books and book reports. no exams though. weekly quizzes on the material, and a final of a presentation and a 10 page paper. she expects students to give their best work, and grades to that standard. but being in her class has helped me so much. for me, all the work was worth it. being in this class was a good experience.
She does not want to relate to her students. Has told me that my essay was just "bad" and would not explain why. Was kicked from her office hours when she would not explain to me why my essay was poor. Comes to class with no real idea of which direction she wants to go with the class material. Talks down to students and always mentions her lectures at Harvord, in a sense saying that she doesn't deserve to be here. If i hear one more mention of Saint Petersburg it'll be 100,000 times to many. Aweful professor who refused to help me and flat out told me to drop the class cause she wasn't going to assist me.
Positive:
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Negative:
Would not recommend this professor
Professor is boring or bland
Confusing or hard to understand
Professor does not relate to students
Worst professors I've ever had!
I recieved a good grade out of the class, but I learned very little. She can be just plain rude at times, and can be indifferent to certain students. In my class at least, she didn't use powerpoint, which is fine if you can organize the material well. However, many of the lectures were scattered and confusing. It was one of those classes where you had to read everything in the book to get any idea of what was going on. While she did show up everyday, many times you got the feeling like she felt sorry to be there. On a more positive note, I think she has the ability to get better with time. She knows her material enough, and I believe she wants to do well. It is insulting however, in the way in which she talks down to students. I very much dislike that attitude of "I am so much smarter than you so listen up." Hopefully her attitude will change someday.
