The midterm: class average 45%, over half failed. His reaction? "I thought this was a really easy test." Uh... gee, thanks. That's really the best reaction to the kind of mass failure that demostrates a serious disconnect between professor and students. Of abotu 17 labs, two were interesting. None related to what we were doing in class at the time. Exactly one required actual lab equipment, the rest were all just homework. The TA did not seem to know Astronomy. I've loved astronomy for years, but this was the worst course I've ever taken.

He's not too bad. I think he knows a whole lot of stuff but doesnt exactly know how to share it with his students. It is something he should work on, but dont be so harsh on him just cause he hasnt figured out how to relate to students yet. Give him time, guys!

Labs had nothing to due with the class and were physics based not astronomy based. Office Hours were unhelpful. Did make a rule that if your final exam was higher than your grade thus far, he would only count the final. However prof did not even show up to the final.
