Robert Ackerman
Washington State University - Main Campus
Department:
Anthropology
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Professor Ackerman is a good professor, I feel however that he needs to provide board notes for students and clearer guidelines for what he expects on his tests. In class discussion would be nice because I feel it promotes learning, however in his class we were never asked questions or given the opportunity to speak. A lot of the teaching relies on video materials, which are unfortunately in some cases out of date. I really like Professor Ackerman, and maybe another one of his classes would be better, because he is quite knowledgable about Anthropology, he just needs to update a few things. I also must mention that 5 essay exams (the last one is comprised of exam 4 and exam 5 which is cumulative), is a bit much, that maybe exam 4 and 5 should have been spread out, it is a lot to deal with on finals.
he does know the material but he is way too bland, he just stands there and rattles off dates, except when he's trying to be funny which he invariably fails at.
