Seshu Rao
Washington State University - Main Campus
Department:
Mathematics
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
I LOVED Seshu!!! He is a very nice guy and has a great sense of humor. You can totally tell that he was kind of a nerd throughout high school, and he resembles Herman Munster, but he brings a lot to the class. He is always willing to help you out during his office hours, and he really spells things out for you to help you understand. He's great and I would reccommend Herman to everyone!!! Oh, he's always at the SRC and (as he says) he likes to "...play the basketball!"
Positive:
Negative:
Is a bad professor
Would not recommend this professor
Overly difficult tests or assignments
Makes class too challenging
Poor sense of humor
Worst professors I've ever had!
I agree with the last statement. Mr. Rao is a full time instructor and has as many duties outside of the classroom as he does inside the classroom. In one semester, he taught three completely different math courses in one day with over 300 students total. He is very knowledgable in every area of mathematics which is a rarity in today's world. Sure he gets stressed out some times, but can you blame him? There are many disrespectful students who don't want to work, but want their teacher to do everything for them because they are totally unprepared for college. He is very articulate contrary to the posting below. He stumbles sometimes because of tiredness. I like Mr. Rao's teaching style and will take more classes from him.
Positive:
Good professor.
Great teaching methods/approach
I would recommend this professor
Involves students in every lecture
Negative:
After teaching for three years at WSU, Mr. Rao has taught thousands of students, many of whom have continued with him and taken more math classes. With that fact, a website that has 13 evaluations is, statistically speaking, a biased sample. Furthermore, a website with the name myprofessorsucks.com will, for the most part, have more negative reviews than positive ones. The students who write negative reviews should probably spend more time reading the book and doing their homework everyday.
Positive:
Good professor.
