As long as you attend class and take notes when he reads his note cards, you will do great. His study guides are from the test, and if you take good notes, the questions on the test are word for word what he says in class. I took tons of notes, but it paid off because studying was super easy - fill in the rest of the study guide and you are good to go. Just don't plan on skipping class.

Gene has such a passion for what he teaches that he makes everyone else want to learn and want to travel to see all that he talks about, he is honestly the most interesting professor I have had in ANY subject, I'm in my 3rd class that I can take with him, if you take notes his study guides make the tests super easy. And there's only 3 papers throughout the semester that, once you figure out how he grades, they're easy also. Whoever said he was a bad professor most likely skipped a lot, if you just come to class for the most part you'll do fine. Gene is honestly the best professor I've had, you learn a ton about art, about how to use big words, and how to love art.

Sleep... Sleep... this class is like nap time... the teacher gives out review sheets by email for the exams (only if you ask him to), which are impossible. The group paper is boring and tedious... I hated the lectures without a lot of caffeine your fucked.... he doesnt involve the class really. Life is very difficult if your not an artsy person... i would not reccomend this prof!

Is a great professor in class, but tests are really difficult if you do not ask him to send a study guide. His study guide really helps because it has almost exactly what to study since the questions from the tests are put on it. He also lets you decide the format of the class, and the tests, and will always give two options on when you want to take tests. Caffeine makes this class more enjoyable, as he ends up very energetic.
