John Hildebrand
University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire
Department:
English/Literature
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
He is an easy grader. He tends to talk all of the time, and disscussion is rarely fully used. In a 3 hour class it can be rather dry and tiring; but at the end of the semester with an A who can complain He's actually a rather cool guy when he talks about his personnal life.
Positive:
Good professor.
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Professor is boring or bland
Needs to involve students in class discussions
Positive:

I would recommend this professor
Is interesting/entertaining/funny
Is challenging
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter

Negative:
Hildebrand is a bit dry, but if you read the books, come to class, and do the homework, you'll do OK...especially if you can write. That seems to help.
Positive:

I would recommend this professor
Is challenging
Brings discussion into the classroom
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter

Negative:
Professor is boring or bland
Poor sense of humor
If you write an essay in his class he will down grade it unless you have the same opinion as him. He always goes off on tangents about his life for over half the class period instead of relating to material. Lots of wasted time when he asked questions because he waited 5 min quietly for a response then just answered it himself. It is like he is lecturing to himself.
Positive:
Is willing to help students anytime

Would not recommend this professor
Professor is boring or bland
Expectations are unclear or lofty
