He's definitely not the end all of MIS; I doubt he knows very much material from the upper level courses. But he's been doing his job since prehistoric times, and brings a lot of witty and entertaining remarks to class, as well as picks on students in a friendly way. Too bad the actual class material is a joke.

I think he knows what he teaches very well and he teaches it in a way which makes it much less boring than it could be. The Excel tutorial assignments are mostly done on your own, but he talks about most of them in class and always sends out e mails with hints on how to complete them. He is always willing to help a student in need! If you are planning on taking a course with him AFTER the spring semester of 2005, you won't be able to as he is retiring.
