Joline Morrison

I'd like to say that Joline Morrison has been a positive influence on the Computer Science department here at Eau Claire but unfortunately, this is not the case. We now have a professor transferred from the IS department that is a poor teacher, educator, and a sour note on the department's record. Essentially, her presence in this department has caused my overall evaluation of the department to slide and it makes it difficult to even recommend UWEC CS to incoming freshman. Morrison lacks communication skills and has difficulty expressing her thoughts and ideas to students. Her lectures are at best described as "trial by error" with you the stduent as the victim. On the positive side she can be *somewhat* helpful if you stop by her office; that is if she doesn't leave early. Please leave the CS department and return to your league.

She teaches with a learn-by-example style. Very good for those who like to see a peice of code, then manipulate it to do what you want to complete the assignment. Very helpful, but she won't give you the asnwers, but she points you in the right direction to get the answer yourself. Some say the class is difficult, but those people probably didn't show up very often. Come to class and you'll do fine.

joline is a joke, she thinks we are all computer crazy and should know stuff that MIS majors dont even do (html web pages, etc.) tests every week, long assignments every week, she talks down to students who do nor fully understand her, in my opinion, not a good prof at all, on an upside, she is crazy smart.

She gets very technical about computers, not realizing that not a single person in the class was a MIS major. She seemed to assume the class just knew what she was discussing in lectures and went through the material very quickly. She does not relate to students at all, and is not very willing to help!
