Melissa was one of the first profs I had my freshman year and she really helped make my first semester a cool experience! She was really interested in getting to know her students and to help them with anything, whether it was related to sociology or not. She was very knowledgeable about her subjects and although she definitely could have been more organized at times, she had a way of making the subject interesting through in-class activities, movies, discussions, etc. I think she's still one of the best professors I've had here. Highly recommended!

I've heard alot of good stuff about this professor and some people really like her, but i just didn't i guess. She got really really annoying. She always ran over the class time and her notes were overheads that she spit out. Her tests had some unclear questions and she seemed in the clouds many of the times. So if your looking for an easy slacker class this isn't it.
