OK. If you've never had Wick as a professor, you will never be able to understand what an amazing learning experience you've missed out on. He's animated like a little wind-up toy sometimes, enoughso to make you wonder if he gets his Diet Coke from a plant that's still using coca leaves, but it never detracts from his lectures. He's got a great sense of humor, loves teaching, loves the subject matter, loves helping you learn, and something that's really impressive about such an outstanding professor: he's figured out an appropriate balance between runaway ego and reality. Besides expecting that you are in class to learn, and therefore making the material challenging (which you really learn to appreciate), the only other legitimate gripe people have about him is his practice of doling out NEGATIVE POINTS for assignments that aren't turned in, or that you clearly haven't put any effort into. Respect him, and he'll respect you. (i.e., don't let him catch you saying "cool beans" or "sadight" ("'s alright"), no matter how much fun it is...)

Really awesome teacher and a more awesome guy. Makes class fun but challenging at the same time. If you take assignments seriously and work hard, you will do fine.

Wick is a VERY difficult professor, but I think he's UWEC CS department's best. Take him when you can dedicate a lot of time to a class and you'll be amazed at how much you can learn.
