Brian Copp

I have him for ANTH 100. I thought the class would be really interesting, but with him its kind of bland. I have the class at 11, so I should be awake, but almost always feel like falling asleep, eventhough I sit in the front row! He is very knowledgeable about the subject, but isn't very clear about expectations. He just says which chapters we needed to read for a test, but doesn't really give dates of when we should have those chapters read by for a certain class period. His first exam was easy, but again, I asked what I should focus on when studying for the exam, and his response was just that I should read the chapters in both textbooks, and look at class notes. He does have some humor. Personally I would not recommend him, but I think that's because I like professors who give more direction.

BFSS may be one of the worse classes i have taken and it is my major. Not only were his test much tougher than they needed to be it was next to impossible to stay awake in his boring lecture the most dry sence of humor you can imagine. If it is at all possible to avoid this class do it otherwise you will be dreaming in class about the clock moving faster.

This class is pointless. He's a great guy, but the tests were harder then they needed to be. the paper assignments were easy though. this class is unavoidable if you're a BFSS major, so unless someone else teaches the class in the future, make the best of it!

Dr. Copp is an awesome professor! He not only teaches information that is useful and sticks with you but he is halarious while he does it. I am rarely bored in one of his classes, and I hate missing them. He seriously makes me want to be a professor. He is a wee bit bias toward liberalism but he doesn't push it on you! He sometimes has the best one liners! Just overall a great professor, go to class, read the book and study and there is no problem getting at least a B. His tests can be a bit difficult but if you do the above you will be fine. Best quote ever from him "My wife has no sense of dishwasher loading efficiency."

Seriously, capstone should not be any harder than your major classes. This is why capstone will no longer be required for incoming freshmen. I actually earned one of the worst grades in all of college, and my major is NOT easy. Classes were very bland and hard to follow or gain much knowledge. His ideas were what the class was based on, and if you did not agree you did not get anything over a B. Nice guy, but not what I expected
