Carol Bjorlie
University of Wisconsin - River Falls
Department:
Music
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
I have fond memories of this class. Mrs. Bjorlie will probably be one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet. She really enjoys lecturing and sharing her passion for music with you. In terms of class lecture, her note system leaves something to be desired... she's pretty disorganized in that respect. You should, however, be able to pass the quizzes if you attend class and pay attention. Quiz questions can be vague and open-ended, but she's flexible and gives you credit for intelligent and educated responses. It's a fun class that's pretty easy too! :)

Has enthusiasm in the classroom
Best professors I've ever had!
Negative:
Carol Bjorlie is a sweetie. However, she is not the best teacher. Music 100 was so boring, there were honestly at least two students sleeping every class period. She tries though, she really does. And to be fair, there are some days she makes it interesting...very few but there are some. This is an easy A once you get past her unorganized notes.

Notes/lecture is confusing
Does not make class challenging enough
I loved Bjorlie! Having studied music for several years prior to taking the class, it was quite easy, but I'm glad I took it. Only thing though, it isn't very challenging, even for those who have never studied music. That was why I only went to class once a week; she takes attendence about 5 times throughout the semester. Though it wasn't a very stimulating class, she was quite entertaining and funny and if you are looking for an easy A, I would recommend this class and this professor.

Carole is a prime example of a major problem on this campus - lack of course difficulty. So yeah, if you take this professor (I still have a problem calling someone with only a B.A. a that) you will get an A. Not, you probably will get an A, or if you go to class you will get an A but you WILL recieve an A. In fact on the last exam no one received less than an A. So, why would anyone complain? Well I pay for my school, and althouh this is a general, I feel like I am wasteing my time and money in this class. And no, I'm not a music major, I'm a bio-major so this shouldn't be this painfully easy. You wonder why other students have a lesser view of KFA majors, well classes like these are why.
