He's a really nice guy, don't get me wrong. But... let's face it... most of what he teaches is borderline b.s. Not only that, he has an abbreviation for everything. There's EM and SD and EES, the list goes on!! And there's no telling which ones you'll have to know about for the test! The problem... instead of explaining these theories in an organized fashion, he spends most of the time bashing the United States along with all the of the hippies in the class. He sets the tone for a very biased classroom. Those who disagree with him tend to keep quiet and watch the clock. To sum up; it's a shame some of his classes are required for conservation and land use planning. They really lack any substance, but instead are laden with useless jargon and liberal politics. Don't take this class unless you're required to!

ESM 307 is a must for your diversity credit!! He has no tests, quizzes and there is no FINAL!! His lectures are interesting and this makes you want to come to class. His discussions are interesting and the material covered is extremely fun to learn!! This is one teacher who I would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone!! You learn about what our society needs to do in order to survive the life we are customed to, the issue of the depleting fossil fuel and the fact that gmo are over-taking our lives. This type of information pertains to everyone!

Kelly is the most awesome hippy professor that I have ever had. His ESM 307 class is awesome, his only assignment is to read Ishmael and write a 90 page journal due the last day of class. He greatly has made me more aware of environmental issues that I needed to see more of. I would highly recommend this class as a diversity requirement fulfillment. It hase greatly changed my perspectives on the environment. ~Me
