Melanie Ayres

Although some students might feel that Melanie is "wierd" or "boring", I feel that she is one of the best professors I have ever had. I took a class with her last semester and I'm taking another one this semester because I felt as though I got so much out of the class. She is extremely organized and her lectures are easy to follow and retain information. Although her exams are pretty intense, her studyguides cover EVERY area that will be on the exam(s). She my be quiet, but she has a unique sense of humor and is very easy-going. I would feel comfortable any day of the week going to her to seek help or information. She is new at UWRF, and I hope she stays!

I love Melanie probably the best professor I have ever had. She makes lecture easy to understand and goes slow enough to get the notes. She super sweet and really cute. I am so glad to be able to take more classes with her. Shes a great professor.

Ayres has issues, ok teacher odd person- one time a needed a little help with an assignment and meet her in her office and the majority of the time she just starred at me (not like she was hitting on me, but just like she was in O2) and she kept swirling and playing in her chair- she couldn't seem to help me with the problem I needed help on but just kept starring and talking about the simple problems that I already clearly completed- I tried explaining this to her and she said its better to start with the little things- time ran out and I did not get help with what I needed and I got a D on the homework. After class I went to talk to her about it and she said that I should have tried harder and came and talked to her about it- I said I did- and She just looked at me weird and didn't say anything- so I just said um ok and left. WEIRD !?!

She is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. I looked forward to going to her classes and she kept my interest throughout the class period. She tells you exactly what she is expecting for her tests and if you study your notes, you will do well. I would highly recommend her!!

Melanie is not a very good professor. She absolutely refused to post her lecture slides online until AFTER class because she thought posting before class would make class attendance go down which is ridiculous. So it was really pointless to post them at all because you had already taken the notes in class because you didn't know exactly which parts were going to be on the slides that she put on D2L, and which parts weren't. The students who would benefit most from having the slides IN CLASS would come to class regardless, so it really was stupid. She is a nice person sometimes, but I don't personally like her style of teaching.
