Ann seems like a nice person, but her class didn't really make me feel any more prepared to teach reading, which is what i expected from a reading methods course. We spent most of the time listening to mini lessons from the other students which seemed really pointless. She never really gave us any methods we could use for teaching reading. We were required to go to a play and answer questions from a study guide designed for 2nd graders which was a total waste of time (example question: what type of anmals would you find on a farm) I can't be too mean because most of the semester we were in field study so I really only had her for like half a semester, but still I feel like I didn't learn anything from her class. Her assignments usually seemed like busy work for a third grader. The assigments could have been helpful if she would have explained how to use them in a classroom. She wasn't the worst or best prof, but if you have the choice take Deb Bowdich (Sp?) you will get more out of the class.
There were times when the homework seems overwhelming but in the end it seems worth it.
