Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
I never had him for a class, but I was assigned him as an adviser when I got into the college of ed. I sent him an email asking a few very simple questions and his response to me was rude, demeaning, uncalled for, and just plain mean. He told me that there was "no hope left in the world" if I didn't know the answer to these questions. I let other friends of mine read the questions I wrote him (other people who ARE ALSO in the college of ed) and they didn't know the answers to the questions either! So I don't think anything I asked him was stupid or out of the ordinary. He made me feel stupid for asking him anything, like I was bothering him, even though his JOB is to help us. I would assume he treats students the same way in classes. I don't like his attitude or respect him nor his opinion. I would try to avoid him as best as you can.
This man should have retired when dorm rooms still had land line phones. He is stuck in his bad ways of teaching and wasted my time. I spent more time playing basketball with crumpled up useless notes than I did actually learning anything. Half the lectures he made students teach and he would sit in the back just smiling...if the "teachers" made a mistake it was rare that he caught it so we would be learning the wrong material. Even in his own lectures he made huge mistakes, and when he would end up with the wrong answer we would have to start all over again... Then when it came to the tests he would put problems on that we hadnt even gone over yet. His organization of lecture is scattered and rediculous. YOU TEACH YOURSELF.

This class was more frustrating than a three legged dog trying to bury poo on a frozen over lake.

Negative:

Professor does not relate to students
After the first day of class, I was absolutely terrified of this guy. He made it sound impossible to succeed. While his expectations are very high, I wouldn't say he's an overly difficult grader. While his grading system is very confusing (norm-referenced!), he gives a great deal of A's and B's after the curve. The tests and assignments are very frustrating though. It makes you wonder why he gives tests where every student would practically fail without a curve. The assignments also take hours upon hours to complete to his expectations. The best thing I can say though is that the instruction is very relevant to future teachers. I probably took more out of this class than any methods courses.

Because of all of the negative things that I had heard about this professor, I was not happy when I was forced to take his class, but I guess it really wasn't all that bad. The other people that wrote evaluations on him already were pretty much right though - he doesn't proofread his class lecture powerpoints or his tests (which is pretty annoying coming from a professor), he technically won't admit when he wrote a bad question that had a wrong answer, and his assigments (he only gives 3) are really time consuming and pretty challenging/frustrating because you aren't really sure exactly what he wants. But he does give some examples to look at. But honestly, his bark is way bigger than his bite. He sets up the class so that the students are motivated to do hard/good work, but when it comes down too it, his grading system isn't that hard. He gives As, mostly Bs, and some Cs, and I don't even know about Ds and Fs, I doubt it, but there might be one or two. So, if you have to take Tony, it isn't the end of the world.
