Mrs. Wiest is a strong, compassionate, and intelligent person and teacher. An awesome role model for students! On the negative side; do not take a course with her like string tech. She's great at rehearsing and private teaching, but confusing and unclear with lecture courses.

Despite what everyone has said I have to disagree. Carmen is one of the worst teachers I have had. In Orchestra she is spacey and doesn't know what she is talking about. If you aren't one of her favorites she puts you in the back of the section. Don't bother telling her anything because she won't remember. Very disorganized. Doesn't tell you how to make things better, just expects you to do it w/o guidance. She can be very nasty with what she says to students along the lines of you don't have a passion for music and trying to get people to quit orchestra by saying hurtful things. Because of her I switched out of the music program. Good ridance!

She's an awsome teacher. She isn't even my advisor and has a major role in my achademic carear. She understands what it's like to be hours away from home in a different part of the state. I had to get her permissionto change my major from music ed to performance.

Mrs. Wiest is great. I couldn't ask for a better, kinder, or smarter teacher. She is truly one of this University's best assets.
