Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Regardless of the fact that she just started this year, as a professor, you need to be able to teach... right? Alot of the material on tests was displayed or worded in ways that were not explained in class OR EVEN the book. And the exam format itself is scantron, so you get screwed out of alot of points for work. She didn't answer questions very thouroughly, or in ways most could understand. And there were tons of mistakes on quizzes/tests that students had to point out - which is ridiculous. Even in class, students would point things out in her lectures, and she either didnt re-explain them in the correct way, or just ignored it all together. Shes a nice person, but needs to get her act together.
She moves way to fast...............everyone is always behind, if you have had college 102 chem before, then you might be able to keep up!

Is a bad professor
Would not recommend this professor
Professor is boring or bland
Confusing or hard to understand
Expectations are unclear or lofty
Overly difficult tests or assignments
Notes/lecture is confusing
Needs to involve students in class discussions

Poor sense of humor
Professor does not relate to students
Worst professors I've ever had!
Praise be to the extra credit, if it was not for that i would have failed her class. Her final was 16 pages of straight essay questions and took the entire two hours to complete. I recieved a B in the class and it made me wish i had paid closer attention in cell biology. At least it had to be better than organic II lab.
To clarify from the start, if you are not really interested in chemistry and are just taking this class as a lab science, you are stupid. Dr. Chan taught the class as well as can be expected considering it was her first year and she was given the class just before the year started and did not have adequate time to prepare. Despite what many others have said, her tests are not that bad if you understand any chemistry and know how to use math well. Also, try not to laugh too much when she talks about "rules" of chemistry; you will know what I'm talking about once you are in the class.
Positive:
Is interesting/entertaining/funny
Is willing to help students anytime
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Has enthusiasm in the classroom
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Confusing or hard to understand
As a person, she's a cool lady. As a professor, well, I'm surprised I made it out alive. I knew most of the stuff she taught from high school, and I was still really confused in her lectures. She moves waaaay too fast. In lab she was pretty cool. The extra credit was insane but helped, so I knew she cared about our grades.
