Clayton Sager
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
Department:
Accounting
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
He never taught us a thing. His exams are horribly difficult and his exam projects are even worse. We spent weeks working on them and, at exam time, he would change the facts of the project and expect us to calculate new answers. In essence, our project was worth absolutely nothing. He threw material on the exams that was never once covered in class or in the book... his reasoning: "This is grad school". He expected us to remember all topics we learned in the past 4.5 years of college. His e-mails are rude, he complains about being on his feet for more than four hours a day... something that the rest of the working class does on a daily basis, he takes weeks to return exams and his method of giving exams is complex and annoying. I don't know how this guy is a professor or why he is paid so handsomely by the university. He is the worst I have ever had. If you're reading this, it's probably because you have to take him too. I hope you dread every moment of this class like we did.
I would not recommend Accounting at UW-Whitewater to anyone as long as he is still in the program. He is THE WORST professor I have ever had. I could say more, but he mever gave me the time of day or cared whatsoever, so I am not going to waste my time.

He's ok--but what I do not like is that he's sort of mean..ask a question in class?he gets very defensive and can reduce you into nothing. His classes are very challenging but I think in the long run it helps..he makes the CPA look like a piece of cake!!

Clayton Sager is one of the worst professors I have ever had. Unfortunately, if you are an accounting major there is no way around him (both figuratively and literally). Understand you may learn nothing and his exam prep problems are all about meeting with people and getting the answers from a select few individuals. Never plan on doing them alone, you will have no idea if you are right or wrong. Good Luck, and I hope he knows everyone hates him.

This class is much easier than cost 1 or 2. Sager obviously is close to genious level when it comes to accounting and expects the students to know as much as he does, which is nearly impossible. With the curve this class isn't that difficult, just make sure you work on the prep problems with a lot of others. No quizzes, only 4 tests make up the grade.
Positive:
Good professor.
Is challenging
Is willing to help students anytime
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Expectations are unclear or lofty
