Don Mott

how the hell do you teach a class when half of the time you went out to smoke a few puff? believe it or not this prof does that. he'll tell the students to get the equipment and fix it all up w/o having a clue to even set it up while he enjoy his cig outside. we were in the studio totally lost on how to run the panel and he was out smoking a cig. totally i paid 300 for this prof to teach me and all i got from him is slack with his cig outside. i was looking to go in there and create some good film but all i got was junk lecture. all the lecture he gives you was stuff no one have heard before and its like nobody has a clue on what he is talking about. he expect you to know hollywood style terms and its like where does those terms comes from. sure not the book because i look at the book and it has nothing to do with what he saids at all. in all this prof better go and enjoy his cigs again before he runs out of time to be able to smoke on the job ever again.

Don Mott is an interesting professor, and while I'm unsure if he is returning next fall, I'll write this anyway. His video production is worth taking for any media/film/journalist major - but as far as Dr. Mott himself, I think he is a man that has lost passion for what he does a while ago. He took what could have been an amazing and fun class and just made it average and bland. He is VERY critical of your work and not an overly friendly person. I did well in the class but I worked hard! I found he was overly critical to a lot of students work and it was not constructive criticism in any way. I would recommend this class, it is not THAT difficult, but I would not highly recommend Dr. Mott. I think he should retire from teaching and find a new passion..
