Eileen Knight
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
Department:
Sociology
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
She is a very nice lady, but very boing when teaching. Gave 4 tests and they each got shorter as the class went on. She gave a lot to study for how little she had on the test and even then it seemed like the things she put on the study guide were completely different things than she put on the tests. One group project, which she realized was too hard and ended up making easier as the semester went on. I had her for her first semester here at Whitewater, but she had taught before Whitewater. Overall not a horrible teacher. I would recommend.

Dr. Knight is a nice lady, but she's boring. She means well..but doesn't know how to run discussion in a lecture. She's just one of those blah professors...avoid her if you can, but if you get her it's not a difficult class, I just think it could be more interesting with more enthusiasm
Positive:
Is challenging
Motivates students to do well
Is willing to help students anytime
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Would not recommend this professor
Professor is boring or bland
Needs to involve students in class discussions
Lacks enthusiasm in the classroom
I went to class almost every time and I got a lot of good naps in. Be prepared to watch her read her own power points, all of which she posts on D2L the same day. The only thing I enjoyed about going to class was being extremely immature and laughing at her when she described conception and pregnancy to the class like we were fourth graders. The class wasn't that hard because of the study guides she posted online, which came right off of her notes that she also posted online. Actually, this might as well just be an online course, because that's how I took it. Sign up for a time slot right after you eat every day so you can get a nice after-dinner nap in.

Negative:

Professor does not relate to students
Her jokes and questions often end with awkward silence. She tries at least. She is nice. Personally, I like her. Honestly, lectures are basically read off the powerpoints (which she puts online) and she gives you a study guide. Exams are not hard (if you study even the littlest you're sure to get a C or higher). The exam questions are fairly easy if you go over the study guide & powerpoint at least once. I thought it was pretty easy to ACE the exams. She's somewhat boring, yes. But if youre going for an easier (by means of being understanding to students & providing all the info for exams) professor, this is the one for you.
