Dr. Hachten is awesome in my opinion. Being a male, I was a bit intimidated at first when taking a women's studies course, but after a few days I was totally at ease and fully enjoyed the class. I really learned a great amount of information (the class actually changed a lot of my previous ways of thinking about a number of things) and I loved the writing assignmets. Overall a very knowledgable professor and I would take another class with her without hesitation.

I took U.S. Experience to fill one of my gened requirements. This class was much harder than other upper level classes I have taken since then. Class was boring, she assigned way too many readings, and had us printing lengthy articles almost daily. If you absolutely love history, especially Russian history (because although that isn't what the course is supposed to be about, it is what she relates everything to), then take this class. If not, avoid this class at all costs!

She is a very nice professor. Long winded, but very nice and I would take her again.
