Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Just by nature, this class is difficult--but it's doable. Dr. Olsen has a great personality and is very helpful...you just need to ask her. She gives the class a lot of freedom to do our own projects, but if you're struggling or don't understand her directions, you MUST ask. Don't worry...she's not scary, just expects you to be inquisitive and responsible in your learning. Her tests are hard, but again, the material makes it this way to me. I would love to take another class with Dr. Olsen if only there were another I could take :) She really does care about her students, and always keeps the small class light-hearted.
Olson required us to do reading reactions, which always took me a long time to do, but they did not count much in terms of points. Her tests were difficult for me and in the end, the tests were what determined my grade. I did all the other assignments and received all points on my reading reactions and I even have 10 extra credit points and I still got a C+ in the class. In the end, she ran out of time to cover the remaining material so she changed the overall point total of the class, without informing us. Although she is a very nice person and seems to try hard as a professor, I just felt like this class was somewhat misleading and that in the end, my hard work and time I put into this class was a waste of time.

Overly difficult tests or assignments

Negative:
Is a bad professor
Would not recommend this professor
Worst professors I've ever had!
At the beginning of the semester, I thought that i was really going to enjoy this class. Then, by the end of the semester, I couldn't wait to get out. Her tests are very difficult (she gives three), but they are not cumulative. She gives A LOT of homework (reading reactions and chapter readings). And too much group work, but I am just not a fan of group work. I would not recommend her.
