Geethe Samaranayake

I am a 4.0 student and Dr. Geetha was the most difficult teacher I have ever had. She gave tons of homework and never explained it and what we had for homework was not on the tests. The tests were super hard because it was math we had never done. She was very difficult to understand and didn't explain anything unless you went and asked her. She was an nice person but I would never recommend this class to anyone.

Dr. Geetha is the best teacher I have ever had. When it comes to math, the only way to really learn is to do a lot of problems and not just take notes on what to do, and Geetha has you do many problems a day and I believe that that is why I did so whell in Math. Her accent takes some time to get used to but I could still understand her. Homework is due every week and it was only a couple of problems per assignment so it is not hard. As long as you do the homework, you will do fine on the quizzes and tests. I highly suggest her as a teacher and she is one of the nicest teachers ever.

If you go to all of her lectures, take notes and do the problems, you hardly ever have to read the textbook. She is by far the best math prof at UWW and is very interested in the success of her students. I don't get how some others have said that she is hard to talk to because that is not the case at all. She grades kind of tough (on a percentage), but if you've been to class, you don't have to worry about that. I have learned more about calculus with her than I have with anyone else.

She is a steriotypical teacher. She asks if there is any problems then moves on to the next subject. Her tests are easy if you do your homework. She gets threw all of the material and does it in a way to help the students from falling behind. Ive had her twice and think she is the best teacher i have ever had in math. If you are not a math person though i can see how she might be a little chalenging because she quickly describes the concept then moves on to the examples.

First off, in both cases her name is wrong. The only thing wrong with this one is that Geethe, should be Geetha, then it works. Anyhow, don't judge her by trying to say her last name, you can call her Dr. Geetha anyhow. Yes she is somewhat hard to understand and her classes aren't truly boring, she just lacks some ethusiasm that some other prof may show. Also, she is a little hard to make small talk with. However, she is a fantastic teacher and her tests are rather easy as long as you do the hw and spend a lil time studying. (Just as in any other math course, so I don't know why people complain about hard tests, because if you do the hw, most of the time you'll do pretty well. esp in a math course, if you don't do hw you're digging your own grave) She offers help outside of class and she is easy to get a hold of. Her teaching style is very org. She comes into class, asks ques about hw, and then moves on, just as any other prof would. Whether you want to just get by or actually learn something, Geetha is a great teacher and works in either case.
