George Sargent

Professor Sargent is horrible at teaching. Seriously, attending his classes are not even worth it. He simply reads off the powerpoint presentations and with a big lecture hall as the classroom, he doesn't bother using the mic so everyone could hear him. I sit in the 3rd row and I could barely understand him! You're better off reading the book yourself than attend his class. I seriously tried attending his classes, but every time I attend, he makes me either fall asleep or straining my ears to hear him better. If you are unfamiliar with Access, then attend the labs, or just watch the tutorial videos on D2L and do the assignments based on those. As for the exams, you are allowed to bring 1 sheet of paper as a cheatsheet and can put anything on it. Even with a cheatsheet, the class average was low for the exams. The exams were challenging and things that his powerpoints don't even cover into detail. Bottom line, I really don't recommend him. Look for another professor for this class.

what to say....Sargent is very boring, half the time doesn't even know what he's talking about, he uses the powerpoints that the book provides him with and just reads right off of them, the tests weren't overly hard but he doesn't tell you whats on them except "the stuff in the book", he's a very nice guy and fun to talk to. if your looking for a friend-take him, if your looking for a teacher- dont take him.

i dont know how they can keep a teacher like this around the school. he doesnt teach a thing, he doenst know the material. what f*** is he doing?

Sarge totally rocks, nice guy, great teacher, great sense of humor. I wish they would fire all the rest of the schmucks in that department and have him teach the rest of the classes.
