This guys liberal agenda is all he spews inside and out outside of the classroom. Unless you too are a bleeding heart liberal who knows nothing about economics or politics do not take his class he will try to bend your mind and mold it into him ideas. He's an education professor he's supposedly here to teach people how to teach nothing else.

Hartwick is an abomination to the college of education. He does not explain directions very clearly, does not provide adequate feedback, and does not relate well with the class. He always has to have it his way; for example, he wants his teaching styles to rub off on his students. He allows for no uniqueness. This can be noted when he hands back lesson plans. If you get on his 'worried' list, you will be criticized at everything you turn in; he covers this up by pretending to care about you. This is just his way of saying you won't make a good teacher, at least in his eyes. I have a friend who was a history education major, but upon meeting with Hartwick he instantly dropped the education part. The college of education (which is corrupt itself) really needs to get this idiot out of here; this class is a gpa crusher if you don't do things his way. Do NOT put yourself through the torture, he is terrible.

Hartwick is great! Don't fear your social studies methods class. The only negative thing would be that on occasion, he doesn't get corrected assignments back on time.
