I had Jeff Janz for New Student Seminar. Professor Janz talks about a lot of current issues that especially incoming freshmen are going through. As of this year, Jeff Janz was appointed Dean of Students. He does not teach or play a role as a Dean in class, but as a guy that understands things your going through and how to get through them. Keys to success: submit weekly journal entries, interview a professor, go to a club/organization meeting, and finally go to a student government meeting. It is an easy A.

Prefessor Janz, makes his expectations very clear! If you go to class listen and read the book you are guarenteed an A in his class. if you don't agree with something voice your opinion; he is willing to alter his teaching style to best fit students neeeds. Plus if you ever need help and make an appt with him he is the most prepared teacher i've ever gotten help from. He had my last test and the future notes i would need waiting to look over!

He can be boring at times, but he does try to make the class interesting and get students involved. Sometimes it's hard when you have 90 students to try and do activities and have a discussion with.

Janz is an alright guy, but not very interesting. His class is easy, but he really waters down his teaching style. I'm also not a fan of how he grades papers. He's the type to give more points to people who 'follow the letter' rather than see a good paper for what it is. Meh.
