Jessica Menke
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
Department:
Chemistry
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Prof Menke is one of the easiest professors I've had. There is usually an online quiz every week. The answers can usually be found directly in the powerpoint slides or on google. For each exam, she allows the use of a notecard. For the final, she allows the use of a whole piece of paper- front and back! Lecture was boring but clicker points made it worthwhile. She also has a "practice test" available on d2l before every exam which is very close to what shows up on the test. If you do well in lab, you should have no trouble having Menke for lecture.
I would not take her. She makes more than one mistake in almost every lecture, with students having to correct her. Whoever says that she is a good proffessor is lying, because she's not. Her tests are overly hard for a 100 level course, the only good thing is that she gives out extra credit and she's nice, other than that I would never recomend her as a professor to anyone unless they already know A LOT about Chemistry, because she definitely isn't good at teaching things.
Positive:
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Would not recommend this professor
Overly difficult tests or assignments
Makes class too challenging
Prof. Menke is a new Prof. fresh out of UW Madison. She is nice and knows her stuff, but the sylabus has been switched around some. The subject matter is pretty boring but she does lots of examples and has practice exams which is nice. She also has a lot of examples and excersises on D2l. I think she will be a better professor once she gets in the swing of things, but she is good and I don't regret taking her class.
Positive:
Is challenging
Shows a love of teaching
Comes to class organized
Negative:

Positive:
