John Dominguez

Dominguez is one of the best teachers i've ever had. i found him very understanding and helpful. he's a little weird and makes some bland jokes, but if you talk to him and let him know your questions he will do whatever it takes to make sure you understand and pass. he expects your best, like with all teachers, and he knows your potential, so if he's a little hard on you it's only cause he knows you can do better. sometimes he's all over the board but he tells you exactly everything you need to know on the exams, and gives little to no homework, tests and attendance are key. i still would/do go to him instead of my own professor for questions.

Avoid if possible.

Dominguez was one of the best professors I've had. He's an amazing professor and knows anything about Economics. I got a C in his class but if I would have applied myself better a B wasn't out of the question. He gives you the tools to do it all. The day before each test he tells you what all 25 questions have to deal with, one-by-one. If you study those, read the book, and get the review guide from the library you'll get a A or B in his class. You have four tests all worth 100 points and also he gives a 25 point extra credit assignment. So if your first test you got a 76 it's like changing it to a 101!!!!Take him and study and I promise you won't regret it.

Midterm is 25 percent of your grade. Final is 50%. Homework is 25%. John speaks in mostly metaphores and gives huge homework assignments 4 times during the year. He offers a substantial amount of extra credit that is easy because you just go see guest speakers. Class really isn't worth going to because you watch irrelevant movies which he calls "softcore porn" that really deal with shitty countries. You can get a decent grade but don't expect to learn anything.

Johnny D is a hilarious guy. I laughed every class period. The class is simple: 4 tests worth 100 points each. That is your grade. Everyday Dominguez comes in and he rants about the economy on the projector on one of his emails on the current status of the economy (for a good 20-30 min) then he goes to the powerpoints from the book for 20 min. We always got out early. The tests are 25 multiple choice questions but they are hard. The day before the exam he gives you the main topic of each question. Really funny guy and has numerous one-liners that make the time go by fast.
