John Ejnik
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
Department:
Chemistry
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
totally love this guy! I had him for chem 104 and a different teacher for 102 and if I compared the two teachers, he blows her out of the water! He has such a love for chemistry that really shows in his demos and lectures, he makes his students love chemistry too! he uses modern examples to illustrate points and answers questions until they're fully understood. If he taught all classes in the science department, I would take them all with him hands down! A+++++
Once again, Ejnik has outdone himself. This semester was even better than last -- he really found some interesting ways to incorporate demonstrations of what we were learning in lecture. Most of the time, his demonstrations involve blowing stuff up! Gotta love a teacher who blows stuff up regularly in class! This guy really understands what it's like to be in college and goes out of his way to make his expectations clear and reasonable. I learned a lot, and I did really well, thanks to him. I'm so glad I had him as my instructor for 102 and 104!

Negative:
This guy took over our 102 class in the middle of the semester and basically saved everyone's asses. He offered ample opportunities for extra credit so that we could make up points (our former professor was really a tough teacher who got off on tricking students in exams, and the test results showed that!) and was available for extra help. So if someone didn't do well in this class, it was basically because they weren't working hard enough, not because they were tested unfairly. No tricks with this guy, very fair, very kind and likeable. Lots of cool demonstrations in class, too. He had some proofreading issues on exams, but was always very cool about them (hey, more free points for us!) Overall, a really nice guy and a great prof. I'm so glad he'll be teaching 104 next semester!
