Lauren Wentz

I am an honor roll student..I went to every class and put forth good effort..received an F. Her tests were difficult for a class that is mandatory for all students.

The class consisted solely of powerpoint lecture which made the time barely crawl by. Lecture was mostly saying what was on the slides verbatim along with a few other side notes that typically seemed unimportant or irrelevant to write down. Come test time though, the odd little examples mentioned in class were often asked about on exams and quizes. Tests are NOT multiple choice, rather they are mostly short answer and fill in the blank with an essay or two! What ever happened to good 'ole scantron?! There are also weekly quizes given, mostly to ensure people come once in a blue moon otherwise the class attendence rate would be 4 at best.

Wentz is a good professor for this class. This was her first time teaching it and she did a good job. She makes the class interesting and asks questions of the class. Her tests can be hard because she prides herself on changing the format. In her eval, I will recommend that she keep the format the same for each test, because students should be studying content- not worrying about what the test's format is like. She does offer extra credit, but she states in the syllabus that she will not round your grade up even if you are a point off- but she doesn't really seem THAT mean. Overall, I think she is a good professor.
