Lloyd La roque

Dr.La Roque is a really fun teacher! He commands the attention of the class and keeps it there with his humor and teaching methods. However he was somewhat unorganized and he often changed due dates or added assignments randomly. We were always confused about what was due, and when and that was frustrating.

This guy is by far the COOLEST professor I have ever had in college. If you are going into the field of education, you should definitely take him for you pre-block courses. He will make you laugh with his insane stories, but you'll also learn a lot from the lectures. Sadly, not that many visuals to take notes from, but thats what the textbook is for. The exams are extremely hard and he lets everyone know it. However, I did average on both of his exams, so it shouldn't be too much more than a sweat to break. Be prepared to answer anything from your assigned work because he always asks you out of the blue and expects an answer. The major downfall about this professor is that he is difficult to contact. He gives out his e-mail in the syllabus at the beginning of the year, but no one can ever contact him. If you confront him, he just blows it off like it never happened. Nevertheless, he's a great teacher for Child Development and Intro to Teaching. Take him!

I LOVED this class. It's difficult because the material is difficult, but I learned so much! He can sometimes be unclear about what he wants or when things are due, but if you talk to him, he will clear it up. He is a great guy... VERY interesting. I would most definately recommend him. His tests are super hard, but it is a great class.

It might just be me in this case, but LaRoque ruined my 4.0 gpa. I do not learn well from his method of teaching which is blatantly unorganized bull crap. Plus he was gone for 6 weeks of the semester...so I don't think he should still be able to evaluate us so difficultly. Overall, if you have him its not so bad, but if you could avoid him...I'd do so.

Professor Llyod is the best professor I've had at Whitewater. It is true that he is very difficult. He told us on our first day that he treats the class as if it were a class at Yale university. He believes that students should actually learn things (omg, i know, who learns in college?) However, he outlines every assignment before it is turned in and lets you know EXACTLY what he wants--so it's hard not to do well on every paper. His tests are BRUTAL--but his study sessions are amazing and he's willing to help anytime. Don't be offended if he doesn't remember your name. I attended every class and always participated, but on the last day he still asked me what my name was. Oh well. He values his students and truly wants them all to do well. It's really worth taking his class just to see his ridiculous sense of humor. I was laughing like crazy during every class!
