Luis Bustamante

As long as you do your work you should have no problem in his class. For those who say he is too hard you must not know Spanish because he really isn't that difficult of a teacher.

The people who posted before me must not know Spanish at all. As long as you prepare your work and your translations you will be fine. Bustamante is way more on track than Ossers is and you feel like you get a lot done in his class. But beware, Luis doesn't mess around, he does get pissed sometimes but only when students get cocky or stupid. There aren't many grades so do good in all of the compositions and tests and whatnot. If you know Spanish you will be fine. He is pretty liberal and lets his students know that but he likes to debate and enjoys it when people dissent against him.

This has to be by far the worse professor I have ever had. First of all you would probably have a snowballs chance in hell of passing his class by just going to tutorial. It is not even worth going to class over. He Teaches straight out the book!! THE BOOK!!! If I wanted to do that I would just stay at home. Also, the study guides that he gives us half of the material is not even on the test. Take it from me If you see this professor on your schedual RUN!!!!! and drop his asap.

This professor teaches straight out of a workbook. There's almost no reason to come to class because you could learn what he is teaching at home! Not only does he just go over the workbook, but the only other teaching method he seems to know is reading directly from the text book! Again, you can do that at home. Also, unlike the THREE other forign language professors I have had, he does not believe in partial credit. So, at the introductory level, you have to spell EVERYTHING in ALL sentences you write correctly to get any kind of credit for the sentences you wrote. It's just crazy to expect that! He does not seem to care that about half the class failed his first exam, and the highest grade was a B-! In fact, he blamed it on the students and gave everyone a lecture about how we should have all done well and can't go on getting grades like we did. Um...don't you think that if the WHOLE class did bad that it's the teacher, and not the class?
