Manuel Ossers

He is the WORST spanish teacher I have ever had. If you are not a native speaker he hates you! He lives out of the text book and you learn very little in this class. His exames are impossible and he is a VERY unfair grader. He is NOT willing to help his students at all and does not care about your overall success. Please do anything you can to avoid taking him!!!

Try to get a different professor- if you end up taking his class do not miss more than the 4 classes he allows you to miss, because you will get down graded. The class itself should not be challenging but he makes it that way because it is difficult to understand what he is looking for and he is a very tough grader. He takes a lot of points off for silly mistakes. He is the worst Spanish professor I have had so far.

Ossers is a good teacher. I was expecting the class to be more challenging! As long as you pay attention and don't slack off, it is the easiest class. He goes off on tangents alot( really random but funny things) I enjoyed having him as a professor.

Ossers is a decent professor. He does ramble on about things that had happen to him, but that kills time so thats kind of a positive thing. he's funny in like a nerdy way, but he's really cool. Ossers has a really good sense of humor and enjoys what he's doing. He does talk fast but this is an advanced course so of course its going to be difficult, in the real world not all latinos speak very clearly or slowly, you just got to get used to it. Probably the only negative thing about him is that sometimes the tests can be a little hard and thats only because you have to remember over 100 different vocabulary words from the stories you read but other than that the test should go pretty easily. You have to make sure you come to class too because after you miss 3 classes he starts to take away points. Osser is the shit teacher!!!

I was going to Minor in Spanish until I had this teacher. I HATED THIS CLASS! Spanish has always come easy to me, until this class. Granted there isn't much "work" when he only has 4 compositions (worth 100 pts each), 5 tests, and the final.. but everything is impossible. Classes are EXTREMELY boring but you can't skip because he takes attendance EVERYDAY (4 days a week - 4 credit class) I wanted to drop this class, which I've never done, because I hate his teaching so bad. He doesn't know how to teach whatsoever. This was my only option for 252, but if there is ever a different teacher TAKE THEM! He even went over, during a class period, how to figure out our grades to see if we should drop the class or not based on how well we're doing 6 weeks into the class because our entire class was failing!
