Don't take her she's horrible, she just shows up to class for a pay check and could care less about YOU

This class is NOT "fair enough". I've never taken in such a small amount of information in any class. She's a good person but not a good teacher. Do yourself a favor and select someone else!

Alario cares very deeply about the environment, but I thought she could have done a much better job at teaching the Environmental Sociology connection. The textbook she based her lectures on was impossible to decipher without her lectures because it was all scientific studies and full of useless information about specific case studies. What she did teach made sense, but you had to assemble and reassemble her lectures with careful notes. I recorded her lectures and re-wrote the notes to prepare for the exams. If you take good notes, they are basically an answer key for the exams. The 100 point scale she uses is rough... you have to study hard for the exams to get every precious point. First exam was tough, but second exam repeated some questions from the first, and the final repeated questions from the first two, all verbatim. And yes, she has an accent and will say "fair enough" constantly as a form of punctuation. Nobody in my class had any problems understanding her for the most part and she was always willing to clarify. Then again, most people who fail a class with a foreign prof are always quick to blame the accent and not their lack of effort. Her syllabus is a mess... indeed. And we NEVER stayed for the full class period!

Alario is a good professor. she is not difficult however her grading is based on 100 points and and the tests are worth 20 each. I got a 15/20 on one test so i was down 5% automatically. The papers and presentations are easy. Take her for individual and society. you will pass. Try a little bit and you will be able to get an A as well. She does have a thick accent but i didnt find it a problem while she was teaching. (I always got out 15-30 min early, MAJOR plus!)

She is a scatter brain, she never stays on subject. She is sometimes very hard to understand and dont try to take notes because you will not be able to read her writing. You will also hear her say "Fair enough" or "very well" like a million times....
