I had her for principles online and it was brutal. The easy part of the class was the three "well thought out" discussion posts. Bottom line, there were three online exams where she allowed 50 minutes, for 50 questions, and one question per page...which is almost impossible. And the test questions were far from easy. Even if you read the book front to back, there is no possible way to get more than a B on these exams because you just run out of time. Also, some of the test questions are from random chapters that you had no clue were on the test. I would stay away...

I went into this class thinking she was going to be horrible. I seriously dreaded it for months after reading reviews of her. She is actually a good teacher and I learned a lot from her class. I highly recommend you take her if you want to learn something and are not stupid. Pretty much if you deserve to be in college you will like her. Plus you get to do the Google Challenge which is awesome.

I took professor lavin for online Marketing 311. I would never recommend this teacher. She is by far the worst teacher I have had yet. Especially the worst online teacher. She requires a lot of work. Doesn't present all the material thats on the test, tests are extremely difficult. Unclear of what is expected of you in discussions. Shows no sign of how you are doing with your discussion grade until the end of the semester. And dont take this class if your looking to get an A or even a B would be difficult to get. I would not recommend this professor to anyone

Professor Lavin is impossible for many reasons. She picks and chooses what students she likes and if she doesn't like you, you can almost be guaranteed to fail. Oh...and after the first test, she insulted us by putting us into two groups. We were either stupid or lazy, even if we had a top grade. Don't take her, unless if you have to.

Does not seem to care for her students. She belittles her students because "she likes to be hard on them". Over 60% of my class failed the writing portion of an exam, and more than half of those students are majoring in something requiring nearly perfect written communications skill (like PR or journalism). I personally know that a few of us have already passed the UWW writing requirement, but apparently we still can't write. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION! Get what you pay for in college, not what the university is unwilling to throw away to stay "sustainable".
