He is a really really funny guy and so while the material is super boring, he makes the class fun. This was his first semester teaching the class, so I'm sure that as he keeps doing it, he'll find more interesting ways to go over the information than just through power points. But he has great stories, is friendly, and lets you go early if you finish the material. The tests are not too bad, and he gives you a study guide for them. The end paper was suppose to be 4-6 pages, but will take you much more than that to complete, but besides that, he is a good teacher and a good choice for this class.
Positive:
Is interesting/entertaining/funny
Is willing to help students anytime
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Has enthusiasm in the classroom
Negative:
Notes/lecture is confusing
Needs to involve students in class discussions
I actually feel bad for anyone who has to teach a class about Measurement and Evaluation. The course information is boring as can be but he makes it bareable. There were a couple weekly assignments but he gives plenty of time for them to be completed and you can re-do them until you get 100. Two tests, with test corrections to get 50% of the points back. One final portfolio paper. He told us it would be between 4-6 pages but most people's ended up being 9-11 pages. His tests are awesome because he knows what not to do, so they are pretty basic. No tricks or anything crazy. Definitly would recommend taking him. I'm sure he'll improve how to make the course information more exciting the more semesters he teaches it!
Positive:
I would recommend this professor
Is interesting/entertaining/funny
Motivates students to do well
Is willing to help students anytime
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Comes to class organized
Negative:
The content is bland, but the instructor is not boring! He is a very funny guy who must LOVE to type...that may change later as this was his first semester. I dreaded taking this class before school started, but there really was no reason to fear it. We had weekly assignments that got a bit time-consuming, but the payback came on the exams. The only bad thing is that he knows what not to do when making exams, so there are no clues for one question hidden away in another question...nor are there any obvious wrong answers ("implausible distractor items") in the multiple choice parts...so he models what he teaches
